Who we are

The Technology Resiliency Management team is responsible for ensuring that JP Morgan's Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Technology demonstrates, and improves, the resiliency of its applications. Our team interacts with our partners in Application Development, Corporate and Global Infrastructure teams. The CIB business relies heavily on having stable and resilient applications to be able to provide clients and governments with a first class service, all the time. Our team understands regulatory requirements, drives company policy and engages with support teams to ensure that the 1000+ applications design, build, test and, in an incident, execute recovery plans efficiently and effectively.

Who are we hiring?

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic, analytical, system administration and Infrastructure skills with a focus on process improvement and data management along with exceptional client and relationship management skills. Experience in an end to end technology environment, including experience with software, hardware and other infrastructure components is desired.

Ideally you will have:

  • Understanding of Application Resiliency - Sustained Resiliency, disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Understanding of different infrastructure technologies (Hardware and Software) like servers, operating systems, storage, network, databases, middleware.
  • Ability to assimilate, synthesize and organize information/data and provide actionable intelligence to drive programs forward.
  • Understanding of Public/Private Cloud computing and associated services.
  • Maintain client relationship and has capability to drive remediation strategies.
  • Broad understanding of the business and regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of firm-wide policies and standards
  • Conversant with current technology landscape across CIB
Required Skills
The purpose of the Application Resiliency Program is to ensure that legacy as well as emerging technology platforms have well defined resiliency controls, to ensure that CIB organization understands these controls and complies with them. Key work streams in the program are related to cloud resiliency, Kubernetes, robotics and end to end automation through Automation as a Service (AaaS).
  • College degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
  • 5 to 7 years of IT experience and related management experience (with or without direct reports in charge)
  • Technology acumen: Demonstrates experience in Disaster Recovery, ideally coordinating DR drills or having participated in any of its phases: design, execution, validation/testing; is familiar with diverse Failover/Failback strategies; past experience in Technological roles (e.g.: 3 to 5 years as platform administrator)
  • Is capable of developing/interpreting KPIs and Metrics, to proactively influence technology partners to take corrective actions. E.g.: detects lack of Compliance, deviations to Standard KPIs, incomplete or missing information; assumes that Data Quality and Data Integrity is vital for proper decision making in the event of a disaster.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI.
  • Python knowledge would be highly advantageous.
  • Attention to Detail when providing executive level reporting and commentary
  • Experience in a controls background and engaging with Audit would be highly advantageous.
  • Cloud experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience of dealing with Third Party vendors and TPO would be advantageous.
  • Business acumen: The individual developed his career in large to very-large regional or worldwide companies, in a multi-cultural environment. Banking/Financial Industry background is a plus.
  • Data Center services knowledge, needs the ability to interact with a wide variety of supporting groups, ranging from Server Admins, DBAs, Storage, Networking, Middleware Web & App. Servers, among others distributed technologies; 3rd. Party vendors/suppliers management is a plus
  • Experience in Production Support / Applications Support, working with complex Platforms and Applications architectures - mission-critical / highly available Applications
  • Demonstrates expertise in dealing with different stakeholders, from technical savvy individuals, to Senior Mgmt., accommodating the speech or language based on the audience
  • Infrastructure skills: Complete understanding of ITIL, in special Change Management, Datacenter Operations and Disaster Recovery - manages the role jargon and concepts, such as RTO, RTC, HA, DR, Failover, etc.

What will you do?

It's an incredible time for our industry and specifically the Resiliency team. The demands from Regulators and clients continue to evolve and we have a number of exciting initiatives planned over the next 3 years to improve the resiliency of our most critical applications in CIB.

You will help drive the Technology Resiliency agenda across CIB through:

  • Assess applications and technology platforms to identify risks that can disrupt and impact business
  • Assess and Review SR and HA Test evidence to confirm applications are meeting their published RTO
  • BAU Reporting of planned Resiliency Testing and Test Results.
  • Liaise with AD, PO, TPO & GTRM and other stakeholders to assist with Audits
  • Provide Executive level reporting and commentary to support key KRIs and Audit requests
  • Dealing with Technology partners to ensure they understand and are compliant with Resiliency Testing Requirements
